The international ecosystem accelerating the transition to Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design chemicals, processes, materials, and products for a competitive European and global industry.

We bring together industry, research, and policy to connect, synergize, and transform the Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design (SSbD) community in Europe and globally towards a lifecycle approach, where safety, climate neutrality, circularity and functionality are integrated already in the designing and manufacturing phase.

IRISS began as a Horizon Europe-funded project (2022-2025) and continues today as a growing international community, strengthened and supported by our members.
