VALESOR consortium shines at SBCA 2025 European Conference
From 26th to 28th November 2025, VALESOR partners contributed to the Society for Benefit–Cost Analysis (SBCA) 2025 Annual Conference, held in Athens. Stefan Åström, Anthesis, chaired a panel discussion organized on 25th November: “Increasing the use of economic valuation of pollution to support policy makers - Latest advances and methodological challenges”. At this occasion, last findings on methodological innovations in the valuation of health impacts arising from environmental stressors resulting from VALESOR were presented.
Main discussions revolved around 4 main themes:
- New values of statistical life – the impacts on the value of reducing pollution, by Henrik Lindhjem, Menon Economics
- Results from literature review of economic valuation of morbidity, by Maria Kostopoulou, Mines Paris – PSL
- Challenges with valuation of environmental health effects: novel approaches, complexity, and methodological challenges, by Daniel Herrera, Mines Paris
- Presentation of the VALESOR online valuation tool, by Krister Mars, Anthesis AB
The session concluded by a panel discussion and attracted considerable interest among international experts in benefit–cost analysis and facilitated valuable scientific exchange.
