The VALESOR online tool for decision support

As one of its main achievements, VALESOR will develop an online tool for stakeholders to assess the health and welfare consequences of variations in exposure to chemical stressors and air pollution. Thus, the tool aims to support policy decision making.

The VALESOR digital tool will synthesize human health effects and monetary values associated with environmental stressors. Based on the VALESOR economic valuation model (ARP 2.0), VALESOR will develop the framework of an innovative online tool for stakeholders to assess the health and welfare consequences of variations in exposure to chemical stressors and air pollution. The tool will allow end-users to easily test several valuation methods, adjust values of key parameters and directly see changes in economic values.

This tool will be able to evolve following the knowledge developed by research made outside VALESOR. For chemical stressors, exposure and hazard data of many chemicals are still incomplete or even lacking, therefore this tool will include data for a selection of chemicals and provide a partial and provisional assessment based on credible hypothesis (brought to the attention of end-users by appropriate warning messages) for as far as many other possible chemicals.

The tool relies heavy on data delivered in the first two years of the project. A first version of the tool is expected by the end of 2025.
